Wow, you are a fantastic gardener!
Do I love to see flower blogs---YES I DO!!! I think we have the same day lilies.
Very pretty, Greta! You obviously have a green thumb. (or maybe two!)
Greta, what kind of vine is in the 2nd photo, the one with the red flowers and unusual leaves? It's quite beautiful. What growing conditions does it require?
Nancy - That's a cardinal flower. We bought it for $3 and stuck it in the ground, and it just took off. It has flowered less since the hot weather hit, but the leaves and vines still look pretty. Kerry - You are too kind. We live in a swamp here in Northern Virginia, and some stuff grows like crazy, but other stuff struggles. Linda - Yeah, those day lilies are kind of my babies. I think I need to replace some of my wild ones with cultivated ones that won't try to take over the rest of the flowerbed. Lori - Glad you enjoy them - I'm trying to spend more time getting my yard in shape (lots of weeds).
You are not behind now! Flowers are in season with mine here in MA. They look lovely. I think we gardeners are all complaining about the weeds!
