Incredible … you are not going to believe this … please check out Ruther Coker Burks’ Graveyard Rabbit blog,
last2cu. She made a shocking find yesterday and has a short deadline for figuring out what to do about what may very well be her great-grandmother’s tomb, left exposed by the lowering of a lake into which a developer had thrown what remained of a family cemetery back during the Depression. If any of you Graveyard Rabbits or others who are knowledgeable about these matters know what Ruth can and should do, please advise her.
Greta,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for bringing Ruth Coker Burks' posting. An amazing find! Thanks
Thank you for bringing this to our attention; she has received quite a few suggestions, and I hope she will call each and every outlet suggested. I've got my fingers crossed that something will be done!
ReplyDeleteIt is so good to see the Genea- and GYR communities pull together in response to a situation like this! Thank you both for dropping by here and by Ruth's blog.
ReplyDeleteYikes! I hope she figures out what to do.
ReplyDeleteI cannot tell you how much it means to me for all of ya'll to come to my rescue! Sadly, it was a televison rating event and our hometown newspaper didn't even cover it..now the lake is back up and only a tiny corner peeks up to look out over Lake Hamilton.
